The relationship as we want it to be is all too frequently supplanted by one that is based on roles demanded by the family. ACHIM will discuss how our sisters have impacted our lives.

The MS PATH (Positive Attitude Toward Health) meets the second and fourth Thursday of the month at 7 PM. A support group takes place on the second Thursday and a speaker is present on the fourth Thursday. This group is designed for those with MS as well as family members.

Over the past year we have developed new pathways for our students to learn Hebrew. We have added a number of flexible options that will make it easier for our families to give their children the gift of a Hebrew and Jewish education.

Are you from Birmingham or Huntington Woods? We have made it even easier for you to attend our programs. There will be a bus from Birmingham and Huntington Woods to the JCC, Temple Israel and back on Sunday mornings. We will also continue to run our Wednesday Hebrew program at Seaholm High School in Birmingham.

For the past two years we have participated in the CSI: Detroit (Congregational School Initiative) program offered through the Federation”s Alliance for Jewish Education. Over the past two years we have made great changes to many aspects of our programs from teacher training to the inclusion of new and innovative Judaic and Hebrew curriculum.

Our work with CSI will continue this year as we begin a new process of educational advancement. We will be exploring new ways to create meaningful Jewish experiences for our families.
